sculpture "Nest of the Wind"

Nest of the Wind is a site-responsive sculpture created during the Javorwood Festival on Bjelašnica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The work explores the invisible force of air and the way wind shapes both nature and our perception of space.
The sculpture is made from steel wire rope a material traditionally associated with strength, construction, and durability. In this work, however, its industrial character is transformed into a delicate, organic structure resembling a nest formed by air rather than branches.
Its circular form suggests continuous movement. Installed in direct contact with nature, the sculpture becomes part of its surroundings rather than an isolated gallery object. It responds to the landscape, the atmosphere, and the changing conditions of the site.
In my artistic practice, steel wire rope is a primary medium through which I explore organic forms and their ability to express vitality, growth, and transformation. I am interested in the dual nature of this material: its strength and weight, but also its capacity to create light, fragile, and living forms.
Resting on a natural stone base, "Nest of the Wind" establishes a dialogue between stability and movement, weight and lightness, the visible and the invisible. Alongside my sculpture Quiet Pull, which explores the force of gravity, this work focuses on air and wind as unseen forces that continuously shape our world.
“Like a nest made of air rather than branches, the sculpture celebrates the invisible movement that continuously shapes nature and our presence within it.”
